SID Collaborates With IMS Conferences to Produce Display Week 2012's Business Conference and Market Focus Conference Series on SSL Lighting and Touch & Interactivity

Publication Date: 13th March 2012

The Society for Information Display (SID), the leading global organization dedicated to the advancement of electronic display technology, together with IMS Conferences, announced it will co-produce the Display Week 2012 Business Conference and third annual Market Focus Conference Series. Display Week 2012--SID's annual International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition--returns to Boston, Mass., and will run from June 3-8, 2012 at the Boston Convention Center.

This year's Business Conference will take place on June 4 and will address the current state of the display market and its outlook. The SID Market Focus Conferences will take place June 6-7 and will specifically concentrate on two critical segments of the display industry - Touch and Interactivity as well as Solid State Lighting. In addition, the more than $100 billion USD lighting market will also be examined as it migrates from incandescent and fluorescent to light emitting diodes (LEDs) and organic LEDs (OLEDs).

"Every year we strive hard to maximize the value of Display Week to all attendees and participants to ensure this remains the premier venue for showcasing the latest display technologies, as well as for learning about the latest trends and outlook in the display business," said Dr. Munisamy Anandan, SID's current president. "This year, among other topics, emphasis will be placed on solid state lighting, in which we will provide a unique opportunity for all attendees and participants to learn more in-depth about advanced lighting by scheduling the technical and marketing tracks on adjacent days rather than running them concurrently. In all, attendees will greatly benefit from the Business Conference and Market Focus Conferences, coupled with our highly applauded technical symposium and exhibit, which will feature a special innovation zone."

What other innovations will impact the growth and profitability outlook? Executives from the display supply chain along with financial and market analysts will address these and other questions. The 2012 SID Business Conference will feature keynotes and presentations from industry leaders, lively panel sessions and plenty of time for networking. I am excited to be putting this forum together to answer these and other questions."

The Future of Touch & Interactivity at Display Week - Thursday June 7, 2012Now in its third year as part of the Market Focus Conference Series, the Future of Touch & Interactivity at Display Week is the premier event for display industry professionals to learn about the latest in human machine interface technologies.
